Company ANGSTREM was founded in the city of Voronezh in 1991. For the period of 20years it developed from a small manufactory to one of the largest producers and operators of Russian furniture market.
Angstrem is a perch which is equivalent to one tenth of nanometer. Accuracy is a background for success in business, and company’s name testifies to our intention to satisfy the wishes of our clients accurate within an angstrem.
Key stages:
- 1991 – foundation of private enterprise “Angstrem” producing training simulator for infants “Skijack”
- 1992 – production of furniture begins
- 1993 – foundation of the first manufactory for the production of furniture
- 1994 – negotiation of the first delivery contract for Italian, and later on German equipment (produced by concern HOMAG)
- 1995 – bulk delivery of furniture in the regions of Russian Federation and CIS begins
- 1998 – the first chain store “Angstrem” opens in the city of Voronezh
- 1999 – negotiation of delivery contract with the Swedish concern “IKEA”
- 2000 – process of diversification of business begins; purchasing of JSC “Promtekstil”, foundation of enterprise for recycling
- 2001 – representative office in Moscow is opened
- 2002 – starting of agricultural business, collective farms “Zvezda”. “Don” , “Khokholskoye” are purchased
- 2005 —development of regional retail chain; representative offices in Novosibirsk, Saint-Petersburg and Kazakhstan are opened; building of stockbreeding complex JSC “Don”
- 2006 – foundation of factory of soft furniture “Divaldi”
- 2007 – the 2nd factory for production of cabinet furniture is set in operation
- 2009 – factory “Diana” (furniture for kitchens and bathrooms) is included into holding company; national award “Company of the year” in the nomination “For the contribution in the development of the industry”; holding company “Angstrem” enters the group of five leaders of the industry
- 2010 – regional retail chain “Angstrem” is the second largest in Russian Federation; foundation of non-commercial educational project School of effective communications “Repnoye”; 9th place in RBK rating of recognizability of brand names.
Prospects for development:
- To enter the group of three leaders of Russian furniture producers in 2012.
- To increase the annual turnover up to 10 billion rubles by the year 2014.
- To triple the selling spaces of retail chain. To develop format of furniture hypermarket for cities with population size over 800 thousand people, to expand the assortment doubly.
- To build and to set in operation manufacturing- logistic complex – 60 thousand square meters.
- To introduce innovative approaches into business, to found Center for development new product in the sphere of designing human habitat. To proceed from production of furniture to designing human habitat – the fringe project involving architectural, building, furniture technologies and innovations.

- Development of educational project for gifted young people of the city – School of effective communications “Repnoye”;

- Enlarging the working area for people with restrict abilities (teams of deaf).
